Friends of the Lexington Mounted Police, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting the horses and officers of the Lexington, KY mounted police unit. We also support their outreach training efforts to mounted officers throughout North America with the annual National Mounted Police Colloquium.
For the general public, the Lexington mounted unit offers the Civilian Equine Sensory Clinic where officers teach civilian horse owners the same techniques they use to make police horses adaptable to the high stress conditions of urban work. Lessons learned in the popular Civilian Equine Sensory Clinic apply to a multitude of settings from horse shows to trail riding.
